We always bring in agents, managers, casting directors, and other industry professionals to teach on a regular basis.


Emily Bauer (Owner, Master Teacher, Acting for the Camera, Voice Overs, On Camera Scene Study, TV Tykes) is a professional working actress who has been seen and heard starring on stage, on television, and in commercials. A New Jersey native and local mom, Emily has been teaching children, as well as answering parents questions for years about how to get their child into show business.

Emily began performing professionally at the age of ten, and literally grew up in the business.  She offers the benefits of her training, connections, and professional experience to children, teens, and their parents in the tri-state area.Emily is one of the most highly sought after voice over and commercial actors in America today, and can be heard and seen in literally hundreds of ads. She lends her talents to cartoons for Cartoon Network, the WB, ABC, Disney, and PBS and is also the voice of many popular toys and video games. 

Emily can be heard every day on MTV Network as one of their announcers. In 2007, Emily was honored with Publisher's Weekly Award for Best Audiobook for her work on "Life as We Knew It" by Susan Beth Pfeffer. In 2008, Emily won another "Best Audiobook" award from Audiophile Magazine, and in 2009, Emily is honored to be the recipient of the ALA's Notable Recording award for her narration of "The Possibilities of Sainthood", a book in which she was proud to collaborate with Timothy Ditlow, the man responsible for the "Harry Potter" audiobooks!Before settling down on the east coast to raise a family, Emily traveled the world starring in such musicals such as "Hair" and "Almost Heaven:The John Denver Story". A cum laude graduate of New York University, Emily double majored in Business and Theatre.  She has also worked on the "other side" of the business for prominent agents and managers in New York, learning the business of the business , the secrets to success, and information available only to those on the inside of that exclusive scene. Her "Acting With Emily" students have enjoyed success in the entertainment industry, being "discovered" by agents, managers, and casting directors, as well as having auditions for Broadway shows and feature films. Students have appeared on Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, as well as in national commercials! Most importantly, Emily's students have fun, develop self-confidence, and learn to respect themselves and their fellow students in a supportive, safe, and creative environment. Emily couldn't be prouder to take a small part in helping children, teenagers, and their parents have a positive experience in this incredible industry

CATHY TRIEN (Acting for the Camera, Acting for Commercials, Stage to Screen, Creative Drama, Voice) began performing at age 9, booked her first commercial by age 10, and became a member of the First All Children's Theatre in association with Lincoln Center by age 11. She studied at a local performing arts school in New Jersey throughout middle and high school, and went on to become a staff member at that school as well, teaching voice, acting, and dancing, as well as private voice lessons. She has toured Europe as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, played Sheila in The 25th Anniversary National Tour of Hair, and Marty in the National Tour of Grease. Off-Broadway she played Coco in Zombie Prom, and did The Great American Trailer Park Musical covering Jeannie and Betty. On Broadway she played Marty in Grease and performed in Gypsy, where she understudied Bernadette Peters. Regionally she has done over 30 shows, some being Beehive, Anything Goes, Godspell, and her favorite playing Patsy Cline in Always Patsy Cline at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Cathy has done television, film, voice overs, commercials and video games including being a regular in Disney's Honey I Shrunk the Kids the TV Series, Pootie Tang, and both the voice and motion capture for the character Mary-Jo in Rockstar Games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. She lives in New York where she continues to perform as well as coach, teach voice and raise her two beautiful children Cali and Keaton.

SANDY RUSTIN (IMPROVISATION & Creative Drama) regularly performs at UCB in GRAVID WATER (named "BEST IMPROV SHOW 2008" by Time Out NY).  She recently  shared the stage with comedy greats and personal heroes, Chevy Chase, Jason Sudeikis, & Amy Poheler.  She is also a player in the hit sketch/improv show “Don’t Quit Your Night Job” where Broadway performer's can let their hair down.  Sandy can be seen throughout NYC as an undercover agent for IMPROV EVERYWHERE (www.improveverywhere.com).  Her role as "Gal in the Yellow Coat" in their undercover hit "Grocery Store Musical" has been seen by over 2 million viewers on Youtube.com!  Though Sandy prefers to be "script free" she does appreciate the written word.  Favorite NY credits include Modern Orthodox” (New World Stages), “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” (Westside Theatre), Jolson & Company (Century Center), Sarah, Plain and Tall(Lucille Lortel), and Neil Simon’s Hotel Suite (Roundabout).  She has appeared on TV in “The Scariest Show on TV” (Comedy Central), “Law and Order; SVU,” “As the World Turns(Kayley),” “All My Children” and “Guiding Light.” Sandy's voice and face has been heard and seen on radio and television commercials throughout the land.  She's toured the nation as Sandy in "Grease" and flown over London as Wendy in "Peter Pan."  In addition to performing, Sandy is a writer and improvisation teacher.  Her newest show (a musical!), "Rated P; An Exploration of Parenthood in 24 Scenes" is in development.  Sandy is a proud graduate of Northwestern University, a happy wife to Evan, and a nutty (but super fun) mom to Isaac & Charlie.
Rachel Cohen McKenna's (voice, musical theatre) students include current and former castmembers of the following Broadway, National Tour, and Off Broadway productions - Beauty and the Beast, Mamma Mia, the Color Purple, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Company (Kennedy Center), Damn Yankees (Encores), Legally Blonde, The Phantom of the Opera.  Students have also been accepted to top collegiate departments (NYU Tisch, Carnegie Mellon University, Syracuse University, University of Michigan, Pace University), and have appeared in various Television and Film projects including Naked Brothers Band, Law and Order, & Law and Order SVU,
As a talent agent, Rachel was involved in booking clients in the following Broadway, National Tour, and Off-Broadway musicals (amongst others) - Legally Blonde, Rent, Disney's The Lion King, Billy Elliott, Mary Poppins, Wicked, Rock-n-Roll, Mamma Mia, A Chorus Line, Jersey Boys, Spamalot, the Drowsy Chaperone, Passing Strange, Hairspray, Chicago.
In 2000, Rachel performed in and was the Associate Music Director of Broadway Cares' annual Nothin' Like A Dame benefit at the Richard Rogers Theatre on Broadway, where she had the opportunity of working and singing alongside Broadway regulars and legends such as Rita Moreno, Rosemary Harris, Sandy Duncan, Joan Rivers, Heather Headley, Karen Ziemba, Elaine Stritch, Melissa Errico, and Bebe Neuwirth. 
Rachel has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University.


Betsy Gershaw (Storybook Theatre) is a professional actress who graduated from The University of Michigan Musical Theatre program.  She has performed in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, several National tours and The Goodspeed Opera House to name a few of her credits.  Betsy has also worked as an Assistant Producer for Fox Theatricals, producing Thoroughly Modern Millie, ‘night, Mother, Legally Blonde the Musical, and Caroline, or Change. Her passion for theatre and dance continues to play a major role in her life.  Her goal is to inspire young children to love the arts while having a blast.     

TOM WAYLAND is a voice director, producer and actor who works on the properties of 4Kids EntertainmentCentral Park Media, and DuArt Film and Video. He also owns TripWire Productions, which has produced more than 200 different anime titles and overseen the voice direction of animations including Alien Nine and World of Narue. He is also a graduate of NYU.
