Acting With Emily offers professional performing arts classes and corporate coaching for all ages, abilities, and aspirations.
Our staff for every class consists of working professionals, well-regarded and respected in their field. Whether your passion is acting for film and television, voice overs, musical theatre, improv, or even if you just want to have fun, Acting With Emily is the only place to go.
We are not an "Acting Factory". We are a small but powerful family of performing arts professionals who know every student's name, their goals and aspirations. Whether you are the parent of a shy child looking to help them connect socially with their peers, or a seasoned commercial actor looking to hone your skills, we care about you, and want to help you succeed. For over 20 years, Emily Bauer has been performing in movies, hit TV series, Broadway shows, cartoons, and commercials. She brings her experience and expertise to Maplewood, at her professional film and television school, “ACTING WITH EMILY”, located at 94 Baker St in the artistic town of in Maplewood Village.
A professional actress and mother of two, Director and Owner Emily Bauer was frustrated with the lack of professional-level film and television acting classes available; thus, “Acting With Emily” was born.
“I started to look around our area, and found a lot of "acting factories" - so many places offering 75 classes a day, or schools offering "professional" training at ridiculously high prices, but not a lot of substance. What if your twelve year old boy doesn't want to be a musical theatre performer? Why should he be pressured into taking a tap dancing class? Also, a high price tag doesn't mean you are professional training. I wanted to give students and parents a place where they could come for great training, and offer it at a great price.
All of our classes are taught by real working professionals who make a living with their Craft. All acting classes use REAL SCRIPTS from real television shows, movies, and commercials- it gives students a practical application of the skills they are learning, and we see results right away! We use HD equipment, and students see themselves starring on TV every week. You don’t have to spend a fortune, and you don’t have to commute into New York City to get solid professional training and opportunities.”
And speaking of opportunities, one of the highlights of Emily Bauer’s unique school are the “NYC Showcases”. Acting With Emily hosts top talent agents, managers, network executives, and casting directors, along with other industry professionals, to allow students to audition, interview, and learn from the best and brightest in their field. “These special auditions help to ease my students into the professional arena in a supportive and encouraging environment. For many of them, this is their first professional opportunity, and I want to do everything I can to make it a positive one.”
In addition to film and television acting classes, Acting With Emily also offers classes in filmmaking, improvisation, and one-of a kind "stage to screen and in-between"- a class for actors looking for both film and theatre training! Voice lessons and private coaching are also available.
Special Workshops to help students ages 3 to adult break into show business, complete with a professional photo shoot and much valued parent information session, are highlights of our curriculum.
"Acting With Emily" students have already enjoyed success in the entertainment industry, being "discovered" by agents, managers, and casting directors, as well as having auditioned for and booked Broadway shows, feature films, television series, and print ads. Students have appeared on Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, as well as in national commercials!
Most importantly, Acting With Emily students have fun, develop self-confidence, and learn to respect themselves and their fellow students in a supportive, safe, and creative environment. Emily couldn't be prouder to take a small part in helping children, teenagers, and their parents have a positive experience in this incredible industry!
CREDIT POLICY
| We extend ourselves to make sure you get more than you pay for. Everyone leaves happy. This is our reputation. However, because we limit the seats available in each class to ensure it’s quality, we strictly follow he policies set forth below. We ask for your cooperation and understanding, as we make no exceptions.* |

REFUND POLICY:
no refunds or exchanges within 30 days of beginning of semester
30 days or more before start of class: full refund amount, minus $25 administrative fee if spot can be filled by another student.
If space cannot be filled by another student before the start of class: AWE credit minus $25 administrative fee. Credits are valid for one year.
Otherwise, no refunds, no exchanges. Once a seat is purchased, it belongs to you!
IF A CLASS DOES NOT RUN, YOU WILL RECEIVE A FULL REFUND OR HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY TUITION TO ANOTHER CLASS OF YOUR CHOICE.

| Things come up last minute. It happens. Should you miss a class or two, upon permission of the instructor, we make our best efforts to allow you to sit in a subsequent class. |
| *Anyone who registers for our classes or workshops inherently agrees to follow these policies at the moment of initial purchase. Any and all deposits are construed as an agreement to pay full sums due for registered class. |
